Helping the planet

Little bit on the late side, but here's proof that we made it out on Earth day. It was beautiful. We started with breakfast at a local restaurant(some one will have to remind me of the name)We enjoyed the van in the parking lot that could not have had more 'right wing' stickers on it. After breakfast we met at the sanctuary where we cleared a section free of trees and bushes. This helped to develop a grassland that will provide home for many a small woodland creature.

Small Victories

It was morning, and the air was crisp, even for September. I jumped up out of bed with a new feeling of inspiration. Well. Not really. Actually I rolled out of bed wondering when it started to be such a hassle to get out of bed. “Mom!” Wheres my shirt”. my son Christian Bellows from outside the room. Another day in the Bowlin household has begun.

Summer Outing with Matthew Laclair

Matthew LaClair
We had a wonderful outing today with our special guest speaker Matthew LaClair. Matt gave a wonderful recounting of his experiences over the past two years. He taped his American History teacher proselytizing about religion in class and just wanted the teacher to stop. His story highlighted the ignorance of an entire system that is really just missing the point. Kudos to Matt for standing up for what is right and many thanks for his talk today. I regret that I did not tape it, but the wind we had at our picnic would have ruined the audio. I found the videos below which closely match the talk he gave to us.
