Well, HOLY moly. The Catholic Church has no problem with scientific (theistic) evolution.

As of September 16th, 2008 the Catholic Church officially has no problem with "theistic" evolution supported by the science of Darwin. They will not offer an apology to Darwin though. This smacks of Galileo. The church approves, but only offers an apology five hundred years after Galileo dies, under house arrest...by the Catholic church.
